Hi BVC’ers!!

I trust that everyone had a great Thanksgiving and that you’re looking forward with great anticipation to Christmas. There’s nothing like thinking about God’s greatest gift and what His coming means to us right here and right now.

The Scriptures tell us that Jesus came to save people from their sins. That’s a term that most don’t talk about anymore. We’re supposed to have gotten beyond the sin stuff and moved on to be more understanding, more loving, more compassionate. Truth is that sin is still with us. All you must do is look at the shootings in Las Vegas and all over the world to see that sin is alive and well. In other words, we still need a Savior!

Christmas without Jesus Christ is like lemon meringue pie without the lemons. Just doesn’t make much sense. The reason we celebrate Christmas is to remember the coming of the Christ child who was going to a wonderful counselor, mighty God, everlasting father, and the prince of peace. He truly changed the world! One day He’s coming back for us and I trust that you’ve taken the time to make a decision for Jesus. If not, just read John 3:16, Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23, and Romans 10:9-10.

This Christmas season we’ll be having some very special services on Sunday morning (as we finish up the Sermon on the Mount series) in addition to have special Christmas messages as well as a special Christmas Eve service at 7:30 p.m. on December 24. We’re also going to be going Christmas Caroling on Saturday, December 16. It’s my prayer that you’ll be able to attend each service and special event!

Coming up in January: January 2nd is the next New Member Class. January 10th is the final “Discipleship” class. January 21st is the 2018 Annual Meeting. You’ll soon be receiving a packet of information about that … be checking your mail!

Have a wonderful and blessed Christmas!!
Love, Pastor Chuck
