Hi BVC’ers!

Prayer is a wonderful thing. I wish I had space to recount all the times people were praying for me and my family — then to let you in on all the results! Suffice it to say that when we know people are praying for us (no matter what the request), we ‘feel’ oftentimes better. We sense an expectancy knowing that God is going to be working through this event. When the result comes, we often praise God for His faithfulness! But a main side blessing is that our faith deepens and grows as we come to understand more fully the faithfulness of God. So don’t neglect your prayer life — and be sure to let others know you’ve been praying for them!

GOOD OLD FASHIONED CHURCH WORK DAY is coming up on Saturday, October 22, from 9-Noon. There’s lot to be done as we prepare for our Community Family Festival. One of the main things we want to tackle are our sheds (cleaning them out and getting them organized). Another main project that has been delayed is the painting of the ceiling in the house. We’ll have a dumpster on site to help us throw away items which are no longer useful too!

COMMUNITY FAMILY FESTIVAL is coming up on Monday, October 31, from 5-8 p.m. This is an excellent opportunity to welcome people from our neighborhood to our campus! It’s been neat to see all the candy brought in but we can still use some more. There’s also a sign-up board outside the main building where you can sign up to volunteer, use your car for “Trunk or Treat” as well as other areas! Be sure to check it out.

SECURITY NEEDS: We have a need for 2 men to join our security detail on Sunday mornings. The main purpose of this is to walk the church grounds as well as keep an eye out for things. If you’d like to join this ministry, please see me this Sunday or at your convenience.

BVC NOMINATING COMMITTEE is meeting Wednesday, October 26, at 6 p.m. Please be in prayer for them.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD packing party is NOVEMBER 13 (right after church). Our goal this year is 500 boxes. If you have shoe boxes at home, bring them in! There are currently 5 empty shoe boxes on the table in the house right now! Lori Serpa will be handing out boxes this Sunday!!

2nd HARVEST FOOD BANK is coming up on Wednesday, November 30, from 6-8 p.m. There are about 8 spaces left … hope you can join us!!

CHRISTMAS EVE/CHRISTMAS DAY services are Saturday, December 24 (7:30 p.m.) and Sunday, December 25 (10:30 a.m.). You are welcome to attend either or both!!

Have a great rest of the week — see you all on Sunday!!
Love, Pastor Chuck
