They say it’s the most wonderful part of the year! Time with family. Good food. Memories made.
What’s on tap for you during this Christmas season? What special plans have you been thinking about and yearning to participate in?
In Paul’s letter to the Galatians, he writes that in the fullness of time God sent forth His Son! How about that?! Just as we wait for Christmas Eve or Morning with all the excitement and enthusiasm, God must have been especially excited to know He was going to send His only begotten Son into the world. I can just imagine what it must have been like when God said, “Now!” When you do a study of the period of history when Christ came to Earth, things were perfect for that event to happen. And down through the centuries the love of God is shown in that single, solitary event. Man would be redeemed and saved and brought to a new life.
Imagine what it will be like when God says “Now!” and Christ returns!! Are you ready to meet Him? Are members of your family ready to meet Him? All during 2019 I’ve encouraged you to remember three phrases each day: (1) I love you Lord; (2) I trust you Lord; and (3) I am your ambassador Lord. May you use these days leading up to Christmas to be that special ambassador to someone who needs to know that God loves them!
What’s coming up?
DECEMBER 10: NEW MEMBER CLASS. This class will be held at 7 p.m. in “The House @ BVC.”
DECEMBER 14: ALL BVC CHRISTMAS DINNER at Famous Dave’s. $20 per person; $10 for children. Please see either Verle Ramirez or myself to secure your spot! This is always a very fun evening — don’t miss it! If you need financial assistance, please see me (because we really want you there)!!
DECEMBER 8, 15, 22: CHRISTMAS CHOIR PRACTICE immediately following the morning service. You won’t be kept more than an hour (promise)!!
DECEMBER 24: CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE at 7:30 P.M. Please invite someone to come with you!!
END-OF-THE-YEAR GIVING: All contributions for 2019 must be in to the BVC office by December 31. Remember to not file your tax return until you have received your giving statement.
JANUARY 26, 2020: 2020 ANNUAL MEETING. Save the date!
