Good Morning BVC’ers!!
Has disappointment ever crept into your life? You know the kind — where it takes all the wind out of your sails because it wasn’t what you thought would happen?
Some disappointments come because they come out of the blue. Some come because you knew there was a small percentage it might occur.
It could be an unexpected bill that makes you disappointed because now you can’t do what you thought you were going to be able to do because the bill must be paid.
It could be going through a miscarriage. You’re up and excited and telling people you’re going to have a baby…and then, boom. It’s over. And there’s nothing you can do about it.
It could be job loss. Company downsizes and you’re eliminated.
This past week has been a disappointment for me. I thought Sunday was going to be the day when all the items in the house would be moved out, placed in a storage unit and demolition would be right around the corner. Then I received a phone call telling me that it wouldn’t be happening at all because of decisions by PGE. “How could this be?” I thought. “Why is this happening?” to us I thought.
Then I remembered that God is always at work around us. That God has a plan and He’s working HIs plan. That God already knew about this delay, this setback. Then I remembered the words of Proverbs 3:5-6. Then I said, “Ok, Lord, You know what You are doing. Continue to help me trust you more.”
So, even though I was initially disappointed, I know God’s got our best interests at heart. I want to encourage you to come to church on Sunday — we’re going to come together and lift up our voices in song and prayer. And, as long as we keep our eyes focused on Him, everything will be ok and most likely better than we could imagine!
