Hi BVC’ers!

Do you find it hard to trust?  Most often we’ve all experienced a time (or two) when someone we thought we could trust, proved themselves untrustworthy.  When that happens is truly causes us to doubt each and every person after that.  And it makes us rely more than ever upon ourselves.

Then along comes Proverbs 3:5-6.  Trust in the Lord.  Lean not on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge Him.  He will direct your path.

If we recall those times when humans disappointed us…when they proved themselves untrustworthy….then it becomes very hard to trust the Lord totally.  We look for instant gratification.  Instant answers.  Instant solutions.

God’s timing, however, has never been dependent upon what’s happening in our lives at that moment.  Why?  Because God is always at work … and His answers come at just the right time.  Always. God is never late…NEVER.  He always answers with a YES, a NO, or a WAIT.

God never lies.  Cannot lie.  Through life we come to see God’s trustworthiness.  We see God’s supply.  We see God’s answers.  He is, at this very moment, at work to provide or do something specific in your life.

So, my friends, trust in Him and look full into His wonderful face.  You know what?  The things of earth do grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.  Don’t panic because you can trust Him to provide food, shelter, clothing, friends, answers — everything you need.  I encourage you to get your Bibles out and re-read Proverbs 3:5-6.  You’ll be glad you did!!

WHAT’S COMING UP?

1)  IT’S MOVING OUT DAY:  August 7.  Immediately following the church service.  Please wear very comfortable clothes that day.  Do you have a hand truck available we could use?  Please bring it with you as some of the bins are heavy.  Tables, chairs, and other items will also need to be moved out.  Lunch will be provided that day.

2)  STONE PAVERS all need to be removed and stored in one of the sheds at the end of the parking lot on August 7.  Does anyone have a wheelbarrow that could be used?  Please bring it to church for this project.

3)  LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE THIS SUNDAY — you’ll see all kinds of marks (different colors) on the ground.  Little flags are also positioned.  All signs that things are about to happen!

4)  BVC PACKING PARTY occurs this Sunday, July 31.  This is the absolutely LAST time the house will be used by any ministry.  You can stay either as long or as short a time as you can.

A LITTLE BIT OF BVC HISTORY:  Jim and Charlotte Stone began BVC in the early 1970s in their own home.  They then moved to our present location and the house served as everything including conducting services.  It stayed that way until 1996 or 1997 when the new building was built.  It was always the plan to demolish the house and make way for a new, better building more conducive to ministry.  As you look at the house, thank the Lord for how it was obtained.  For how it was used by the Lord in ministry.  People were saved in that house.  People sang praises to the Lord in that house.  Perhaps you’ll want to take a picture or two as well.  I know I’m going to be taking pictures myself.  The house has served us well and for that we thank the Lord.

See you this Sunday!!  Come prepared to worship and sing praises to God.  I look forward to seeing each of you.

Much love,

Pastor Chuck
