Hi BVC’ers!

Can you believe it? We’re heading into Thanksgiving next week!! When I look at the word, thanksgiving, my mind ponders what all that means. I know we’re supposed to be thankful (for each of us have a great deal of blessings). I also know what I’m exhorted to do in the Word: in EVERYTHING give thanks for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. “Everything” is an all-encompassing thing — from the good to the not-so-good. I know it’s easy to give thanks when everything flows as it should and things are sunny and bright. I also know it’s hard to give thanks when things don’t go as planned. But it is God’s will we give thanks in all situations and circumstances. So let’s join together to do that between now and Thanksgiving Day — give thanks for every situation and circumstance and thank God for it. We might be amazed at how He changes us in the process!

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD — wow, what a day! First, I have to give credit where credit is due: LORI SERPA you are amazing! And I’m very thankful that you are the point person for this valuable ministry each year. This past Sunday we had 319 boxes packed!! 319!! And people can still bring in boxes this Sunday. And from what I understand, the women are going to be packing some more boxes this Saturday, November 21. Simply amazing…and a job well done. So our hats are off to you and your crew for doing such an amazing and outstanding job! Then, a special thank you to all of YOU who went out and got the items and packed your boxes … we couldn’t have approached 319 boxes without you doing that. Way to go!!

BVC CHRISTMAS DECORATING DAY — is coming up on Saturday, November 28 beginning at 9 a.m. Special thanks to Jerett Olson, Wayne Phillips, and Noah Kang for putting lights on the main building. That was a huge job (and a job well done). Looking forward to seeing them lit! That leaves putting lights on the house and decorating the Christmas trees. I have a special favor to ask: two sections of the ceiling in the house need to be painted and I believe if 4 people volunteered for this task, it could be completed in 60 minutes (or less). It would certainly make the house look brighter and cleaner. And this could be happening while others were here decorating the rest of the church. If you’d be interested, please contact me! Thanks!!

YOUR BVC BOARD met last night at our monthly board meeting. We’ve been hard at work in preparing the 2016 Faith Budget as well as going over and approving the slate of officers presented to us by the 2015 Nominating Committee. We are in the final stages and hope to be able to get all of this information into your hands before Christmas so that you have time to pray about it in preparation for our Annual Meeting on January 17, 2016. At our Annual Meeting we’ll be presenting our vision for where we believe God is taking us! Please set that date aside.

CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE is coming up on December 24 at 7:30 p.m. Don’t miss it!!

2ND HARVEST FOOD BANK is coming up on Wednesday, January 6, 2016. We have 15 spots available. The Bread of Life Church will be joining us (and they have 5 spots available). Should be a great evening.

WOMEN’S RETREAT money needs to be turned in this Sunday, November 22. If you need some financial assistance, please see either myself or Verle Ramirez. I heard that 27 are signed up for this!!

This coming Sunday I’ll be speaking on being ‘MOLDED BY CHRIST’ taken from Colossians 2:16-23. Looking forward to seeing each of you then — have a tremendous rest of the week!
