Hi BVC’ers!

Back in 2012 I made a cross-country trip going from California to North Carolina along I-40. It was absolutely breathtaking at how beautiful the United States of America truly is. From California to Arizona to New Mexico to Texas to Oklahoma to Arkansas to Tennessee to North Carolina was varied and different; colorful; vast; and there were so many places along the way that I really wanted to stop but couldn’t because of time. By the time I was driving through Tennessee about to enter North Carolina I drove through the most beautiful forest. The roads were curvy and I couldn’t wait to get back to a straight road. Mile after mile of curves. It made me think of the truth in Proverbs 3:5-6 — God will make every path straight. It can seem, at times, like we don’t know what’s happening or where we’re going in this thing called life but God knows. And it can seem, at times, that the curvy road is never going to end…but God knows exactly when that will occur. Which is why we’re called upon to trust Him in all situations and circumstances, never leaning on our own understanding. Next time you’re faced with some curves you didn’t expect, keep the truth of Proverbs 3:5-6 handy: God alone will make that curvy portion of your life straight!

Here are some things going on at BVC. First, OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD PACKING PARTY is taking place this Sunday after the service. You can bring your completed boxes to the church on Sunday (please be sure to include $7.00 for each box to cover shipping and mailing expenses). We’re trusting God for 500 boxes this year!! A high goal — but sure to be exciting as we count and pack. Don’t miss this fun event!!

CHURCH DECORATING DAY! Coming up on Saturday, November 28, from 9-Noon. We can use all the help we can get to string lights, hang garland, wreaths, and decorate trees. If you’re available, please come on down and have some fun with us!!

BVC ANNUAL MEETING! It is coming up on Sunday, January 17, 2016. Soon you’ll be receiving your 2016 Faith Budgets and 2016 List of Candidates.

LADIES RETREAT! It is coming up in January — so far we have 27 ladies scheduled to attend (making this the biggest group ever from BVC)! What will all of us men do while the ladies are away??

CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE will be at 7:30 p.m. on December 24. Don’t miss this special service of singing some classic Christmas carols plus a short message. A highlight of the season to be sure!

This coming Sunday we’ll be looking at Colossians 2:8-15 with a message entitled, “No Deception.” Trust you’ll have a chance to read the passage ahead of time in order to familiar yourself with it. We’re going to have a great day on Sunday … see you then!!

Love, Pastor Chuck
