Hi BVC’ers!

I’m reminded of the words of the Psalmist who said he was going to look unto the hills. It reminded him that his help came from God who had made heaven and earth. There’s something special about communing with God. It can happen in a park which doubles as a soccer field. It can happen in the Santa Cruz Mountains. It can happen in the picturesque Monterey. Just getting away and focusing on God does wonder to our hearts and to our minds. One can feel refreshed and reinvigorated just because we took a few moments to meet with God! So never underestimate the power of getting by yourself (or with others) and just spending time in God’s presence.

FEBRUARY 3-5: WOMEN’S RETREAT in Monterey! I’m sure all the women of BVC are excited to be journeying to Monterey for some much-needed refreshment and encouragement from the Word of God! After a busy holiday season it’s always good to get away and really allow the teaching from the Word to infiltrate every nook and cranny in our hearts! Ladies, we’ll be praying for you to have a great time communing with God!

FEBRUARY 26: FOLLOW-UP to Annual Meeting. Please be sure to set this date aside. We’ll gather to worship the Lord…then we’ll participate in lunch together…followed by a time of talking and envisioning what our church can be going forward. If you’ve got some questions I’d suggest you write them down and bring them with you to the meeting!

MARCH 10-12: MEN’S RETREAT at Mt. Hermon! Now’s the time to get your RSVP and initial deposit in for Men’s Retreat 2017! Just as the ladies will be enjoying the wonder of the Lord, so too will we men. We need this time away from the ordinary to again reflect upon the majesty of God as well as His message for our lives. If you have questions or need assistance, please see me or Jerett Olson.

APRIL 15: COMMUNITY FAMILY FESTIVAL! More info will be forthcoming.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD: There’s a collection box in the lobby each month for selected items so that when November arrives, we’ll have plenty of items to place in those boxes. Many thanks to Lori Serpa for her excellent leadership!

Have a great rest of the week … looking forward to seeing you on Sunday as we continue to go through Ephesians!
Love, Pastor Chuck
