Hi BVC’ers!!

Galatians 6:2 let us know to “carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” We all have burdens (things that weigh us down or cause us concern). Perhaps you have a child that you pray for continuously because their lifestyle or decisions concerns you. Or perhaps having an illness would weigh you down (or the potential to have an illness). Burdens come in all shapes and sizes … some last a few hours while others last for a long time. Some we can escape from for a day or two but there are others that never seem to leave.

Galatians 6:2 lets us know that it is important to have other people praying for us during our burden-carrying days. Most often people come alongside during the tough stretches. A note arrives in the mail or we get a text message or perhaps e-mail…all to let us know that someone else has remembered us in prayer. It is during this time of prayer that we can feel our burdens lifted and a sense of hope reenters our lives. Prayer is the avenue through which burdens are carried by others and in a very real sense are given over to the hands of God!

Don’t ever feel like your request is too small or what you think is too insignificant. The truth is that every burden (no matter how great or small) is important. We need prayer. And we need the company of others.
