Thank the Lord for the relationship with can have with Him through all the days He gives us to live on this earth. Sometimes a lot of things in this life can be exasperating, cruel, hard, or unfair. Sometimes a lot of things in this life are wonderful, joyous, exhilarating, or great. It is wonderful to know that He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Why? Because He does not change. He doesn’t alter. And in the midst of all that life has to offer, it’s wonderful to know that basic truth. So when He deals with us during the good and/or bad times, He’s the same. That makes Him fair and just. Who could ask for anything more?
STARTING OCTOBER 9: “WHO IS JESUS?” sermon series debuts. We’re going to be spending the next few Sundays exploring this and learning about what Jesus said about Himself! Hope you’re planning to be with us!
VERONICA GAJARDO SERVICE: October 9, beginning at 4 p.m. We’ll have a chance to thank the Lord for Veronica’s life and legacy as we gather together for her service. Continue to pray for Len and the entire Gajardo family and uplift them in prayer.
CHURCH WORK DAY: We want to take care of a few things on our work day on October 22, 9-Noon. We’ll be especially preparing to make our facility look great as we prepare to welcome the community to our campus for the COMMUNITY FAMILY FESTIVAL!
2016 NOMINATING COMMITTEE is tentatively scheduled to meet on Wednesday, October 26. If you would like to submit a name for them to consider for various positions at BVC, please see any of the following: Ramir Ramirez, Jenn Chiaramonte, Lori Serpa, Jerett Olson, or Amvir Sumera prior to the 26th.
COMMUNITY FAMILY FESTIVAL: October 31, from 5-8 p.m. We have had great response in bringing candy to the church (you have until October 30). We also have several who are volunteering their vehicle for TRUNK OR TREAT (we could use a few more). We will also need PARKING LOT ATTENDANTS, FOOD PREPARERS, MUSICIANS, as well as several others! If you’re interested, please let me know.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD: this is the time of year to be bringing in your shoe boxes. Just bring them into the house and place them on the table. They’ll be picked up and wrapped so that they are ready when we have our packing party! Save November 13 after church to do this.
2ND HARVEST FOOD BANK: Wednesday, November 30, from 6-8 p.m. Space is still available!
CHRISTMAS EVE/CHRISTMAS DAY: We’ll be holding similar services on both Christmas Eve (7:30 p.m.) as well as Christmas Day (10:30 a.m.). Please feel free to invite your family and friends to either service. And you’re welcome to attend both as well!!
Have a wonderful rest of the week — see you Sunday!!
Love,
Pastor Chuck
