GIVING THANKS

Hi BVC’ers!

How about this warmer weather?!!  Fun, huh?   And just for added fun in our house our AC Unit died on Sunday!  Our house heated up big time.  We contacted an HVAC company and they were able to come out yesterday (where they informed us that our unit was on its last legs).  They repaired it temporarily so that it would last until next week when a new unit will be here!!  Hooray!

This reminded me of the Scripture passage that tells us “in everything give thanks for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”  Often in the midst of hot weather (or trials), it’s hard to remember that verse (and then to apply it).  We do have a lot to be thankful over (even hot weather).  God always supplies what we need at the precise moment that we need it.  Nothing ever catches God by surprise.

Today I’m grateful for the much cooler weather.  You too?

FATHER’S DAY IS JUNE 16:  Don’t miss out on our special Father’s Day service followed by the Luau.  Come dressed in your most colorful Hawaiian outfit (shorts are very acceptable).

2ND HARVEST FOOD BANK:  Wednesday, June 19, from 6-8 p.m.  If you are planning to attend, please let me know.  We have 10 spaces reserved.  If you can, please register online.

JULY 4th BBQ:  Thursday, July 4.  There will be a dunk tank and a Big Kahuna Water Slide (both can accommodate adults).  BVC will provide hamburgers and hot dogs.  If you’d like to bbq something else (like chicken or steak), please bring that with you.  We could use some help with salads and desserts.  ‘

BVC TRANSITION TEAM:  This group met Wednesday, June 12, and began the task of discovering what do we do when we do not have “The House @ BVC” to use.  One of their goals is to go through the house prior to August 1 and begin the process of determining what to keep and what to donate/throw away.

PLANNING COMMISSION:  It looks like we’ll be meeting with the Planning Commission in late July.  They’ve only seen “minor considerations” in our plans which need to be addressed.  This is fantastic news!!

Have a great rest of the week — see you Sunday!

Love,

Pastor Chuck
