Have you got your armor on today? The reason I ask that question is that this Sunday we’ll be looking at that famous passage from Ephesians where the “armor of God” is listed (Ephesians 6:10-17). Many times we’ve all been guilty of going out without our armor properly affixed to us. And there have probably been times when going without it has caused some issues and perhaps some consequences. Why is the armor so important? For that you’ll need to be here on Sunday as WALKING IN A MANNER WORTHY series continues.
What’s coming up at BVC?
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 28: BVC is returning to the 2nd HARVEST FOOD BANK (located at 4001 N. First Street in San Jose). We’ll be there from 6-8 p.m. and this is always a great time to get out and serve our San Jose community. If you’ve never been, let me encourage you to come out and join us. If you’ve been before, return!! We always have a great time and the people at 2nd Harvest always close things down promptly at 8 p.m.
SUNDAY, JULY 2: OLD FASHIONED CHURCH BBQ. You can still sign-up this Sunday for various activities that we’ll be having. Look for the sign-up table!
WEDNESDAY, JULY 5: FUNDAMENTALS OF THE FAITH class begins. This class will run until September 27 (keep in mind that the Wednesday Bible Study/Life Group will NOT be meeting). If you are planning to join this class, please rsvp with me so we can order enough workbooks.
SATURDAY, JULY 8: JERETT OLSON GRADUATES FROM WESTERN SEMINARY! That’s right — after many years of classes and papers and reports, Jerett will be finished with his degree. This is a great accomplishment…way to go Jerett!!
SATURDAY, JULY 8: BVC RUMMAGE SALE. The proceeds from the rummage sale go to defray the cost of YOUTH CAMP and mailing costs for OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD. If you’ve got some “goodies” in your home that you’d like to donate for the sale, please drop them off at BVC.
YOUTH CAMP: July 15-19. This is always a highlight of our summer as our youth journey to camp where a lot of spiritual decisions are made. Be in prayer for this time of spiritual growth. ONE LAST THING: We’re experiencing some issues with our A/C units for the main building. Last Sunday two of them were not working. We have an A/C person coming out to the church tomorrow (June 23) to investigate. Your BVC Board met last night and talked through all the issues regarding these units. We’ll have more information shortly to share with you.
