Hi BVC’ers!

FAITH. A very interesting word. Sometimes we amaze ourselves at how much faith we display. Other times, not so much. Hebrews 11 has been called the “faith chapter” of the Bible. In it are recorded men and women who displayed tremendous faith in all sorts of endeavors. Scripture exhorts us that “without faith it is impossible to please God.” Many times I’ve heard people comment that they wished their faith was consistent…amen to that!

Then there are times when our faith in God is called to higher heights. Those times can be scary to be sure. But they can also be some of the most exciting times in one’s life. When Janice and I were with CBHMS (Conservative Baptist Home Mission Society), we lived by faith every single month of those 7 years because our whole pay was based on what people sent in each month. And there were some pretty lean months. But we learned that what is important is faith in God and He will supply. We were young back then and often prone to worry. Looking back on it now, how foolish we were. God knew our situation, knew our hearts, and knew what we needed. You know what? He provided at just the right time.

As a church, we’re gearing up for a “faith adventure.” Got great news to share with each of you on Sunday at the Annual Meeting about the House Renovation — so don’t miss it! I believe God is leading us to trust Him more. These are exciting days at BVC!!

ANNUAL MEETING: Coming up this Sunday, January 20, immediately following the morning service. We promise to be as brief as we can. Anyone interested in the ministry of BVC is welcome to attend. Like I said above, all kinds of great information to share with you!!

WOMEN’S RETREAT: Coming up in beautiful Monterey, California! January 25-27!

MEN’S RETREAT: Coming up at Mount Hermon in March. Sign-ups can be taken now.

Have a great rest of the week and I look forward to seeing each of you on Sunday!

Love, Pastor Chuck
