Hi BVC’ers!

Can you believe it? — it’s Labor Day Weekend! I feel like 2018 has just gone by in one big blur. I get the feeling, sometimes, that time seems to be speeding up. Do you get that feeling too?

No matter the speed of time, God always remain the same. Doesn’t matter the season of life, He’s always there extending love and forgiveness to each who calls upon Him. I was recently speaking with someone who brought up some of the difficulties that one particular denomination is having. I let this person know that BVC was not part of that denomination and that our whole purpose was to proclaim the Gospel and let people know that God loves them.

Loving as God instructs to is tough sometimes. Have you ever thought about what life would be really like if we could love like that? Coming up (hopefully) in September, is LOVE LIKE THAT. It’s six weeks long … all the supplies have been ordered and they’re supposed to begin shipping on September 5. Because of the uncertainty of when things will arrive, the start date for the sermon series as well as the six-week class are going to be delayed just a bit. Once the materials come in, you’ll be notified. In the meantime, plan on signing up for this new class!

EXPERIENCING GOD can also be signed up for. It begins on Thursday, October 4. You can sign up via this article by responding below or on your registration card this coming Sunday! Workbooks will need to be ordered … if you’re planning to attend, let me know so that we can order the correct amount. If you have any questions about LOVE LIKE THAT or EXPERIENCING GOD, let me know.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD is right around the corner and it’s never early enough to begin picking up items here and there. Probably one of the best places to do so is the Dollar Store (of various names). Crayons, pens, pencils, washcloths, soap, paper, toys, and a whole lot more can be obtained from there. Feel free to bring your items to the church (and please let Lori Serpa, the point person, know you’ve done this).

COMMUNITY FAMILY FESTIVAL is also right around the corner on October 31, from 5-8 p.m. Santino and Eloisa Fortes are the point people for this event. Lots of things are being planned as we reach out to our neighbors and invite them to our campus. If you’d like to be involved in any capacity, please see Santino or Eloisa.

Have a great rest of the week and I look forward to seeing each of you Sunday as we continue looking at the “Promises of God”! Don’t miss it!!
Love, Pastor Chuck
