Hi BVC’ers!

Well, what a week this has been. First I’m in the hospital for tests (ordered by my primary care physician). Then I’m taking Janice to the Emergency Room because she was having great difficulty breathing. They admitted her very early Sunday morning. Then as I was driving to church, Janice called to tell me that the doctors were performing a procedure on her to remove excess liquid from around her heart in a matter of minutes. You know what? It’s a very good thing that God knew all about this! Psalm 139:16 says your eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in Your book were all written the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them. God knew that I’d be in the hospital on August 11. And He knew that Janice would be there on August 13 until August 17. Nothing catches God by surprise…and that’s true for my life, Janice’s life, and your life. He sees everything and has every situation under control. When I took Janice to the ER, everything was orchestrated perfectly — from the attending physicians to a room being ready to tests being run. It reminded me again that we always have to trust the Lord and realize He’s directly our steps. If you’re going through a hard time in some aspect of life, look up! God’s in charge!!

This Sunday I’ll be continuing the series on THE 7 CHURCHES OF REVELATION. We’ll be looking at the church in Thyatira (Revelation 2). Special thanks to Jerett Olson for filling in last Sunday on the spur of the moment. I’ve heard a great many good comments about his message as well as the service.

Various Life Groups/Bible Studies continue to meet throughout the summer: Wednesdays at 7 p.m.; Thursdays at 7 p.m.; and Fridays (youth) at 7 p.m. Our Women’s LifeGroup meets on Saturdays at 10 a.m. If you aren’t presently taking advantage of one of these groups, I’d encourage you to try one out!!

COMMUNITY FAMILY FESTIVAL is fast approaching. It will be held from 5-8 p.m. on October 31 (Monday). If you’d like to participate in “Trunk or Treat”, let us know (this is where you decorate the trunk of your car with a specific game and specific treats! If you’d like to assist in set-up or clean-up, please see either myself or Raud de Silva.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD is collecting various items throughout these months leading up to our packing party in November. Please be sure to check out the info table located in the lobby! Or you can speak with Lori Serpa!
