Have you ever had one of those weeks where you needed an extra boost of wisdom? Have you ever had one of those weeks where you needed an extra boost of insight? Have you ever had one of those weeks where you needed an extra boost of discernment?
Well, if you have then you’ve joined my club! There are times in our lives when a lot of things just don’t seem to make sense. This past week was one of those times when a whole lot of things came together in such a weird and unfair association. I called Janice at work to announce that from now on FEBRUARY 29 is going to be known as ‘LIFE’S NOT FAIR’ day! Only kidding…but the items on my plate that day really made me think about how could things be so disjointed? Then I remembered the truth of Philippians 4:6-7 and knew that the antidote to what I was looking at and thinking about was prayer. The secret results of prayer are that my heart and my mind ending up being protected by God’s peace. The other realization for me was that these things were out of my control — thus putting them back in God’s capable hands made the day go so much easier! So the next time you’re weighed down by life, just remember the antidote of prayer and that God is at work on bringing solutions.
MEN’S RETREAT is this weekend! Starts tomorrow and concludes on Sunday. I’ll be returning late Saturday night in order to be at church on Sunday morning with a 4-week series on MOVING TO THE SUMMIT. We’re going to be looking at various episodes which took place in the life of Jesus during the month of March. This coming Sunday we’ll be spending time in Matthew 26:14-30 and looking at Judas, the betrayer.
FINGERPRINTING takes place on Saturday, March 19. All those involved in ministry with our youth will want to be at BVC at 9:30 a.m. This is one necessary precaution each of us needs to take to insure the safety and protection our little ones! Thanks so much for your participation.
