Hello BVC’ers!!
I missed you all last Sunday. I am so looking forward to being back this coming Sunday, September 4. Trust you are as well!
We were away due to a funeral as well as a wedding. Both took place in Seattle, Washington. The funeral was for my cousin’s son, 37, who passed away in Florida about three months ago. He had been introduced to drugs when he was 12 years old and battled that issue for the rest of his life. He did turn his life around, however, and gave it to Jesus…and the Lord used his life to bring others to saving faith in Jesus! Toward the end of his life, he grew tired. His mother spoke eloquently at the funeral and told us all that Seth’s life and the days in it were all ordained by God and that God knew when Seth would be called back home. It was a lovely service…truly God-honoring and I’m so thankful that Janice and I could be there to support the family and show our love.
The wedding took place on Saturday and it was followed by a wonderful reception. Everyone had a wonderful time and it was great to see family from Janice’s side and get to spend time with each of them. Sunday was a brunch and we ended up staying all day. The weather in Seattle was truly wonderful. Our relatives from Missouri who came out to the wedding kept moving outside to sit in the beautiful weather as they can’t do that back home!!
We often get busy with the things of life … how wonderful to pause and spend time with others.
MAIN BUILDING: it looks like we got our AC units tweaked. They’re back up and running (3 of the 4 are functioning). That’s indeed great news as we head into this weekend when they say it is supposed to be quite warm!
HOUSE RENOVATION PROJECT: We’ve actually made some progress but we’re still at the mercy of PGE. Continue to pray that we get moved through the process in God’s timing!!
1 AND 2 PETER: The study will start on Thursday, September 22. This study will only be on Thursday that week then on September 28 will move back to Wednesdays. The study will be co-led by myself and Mike Brazil. If you’d like to join, please let me know and I’ll get the ZOOM information to you!

COMMUNITY FAMILY FESTIVAL: Returns on Monday, October 31. More details to follow! This is our chance to welcome our neighbors to our campus and it’s always a great event.
