Frequently Asked Questions

Q? What time are worship celebrations on Sunday?

A. We have a Sunday Celebration service at 10:30 am. We also have a small-group Bible study on Wednesdays at 7 pm.

Q? What should I wear to BVC?

A. Whatever you feel most comfortable in. A lot of people wear jeans, but some folks still feel more comfortable in ‘Sunday dress’. The pastor usually teaches in business (very) casual.

Q? How do I get to BVC?

A. We are right on North Capitol Ave. Take the Berryessa exit off of 680; McDonalds is on the corner on the right. We are two blocks North of McDonalds. For more detailed directions, please see our Contact page.

Q? Will I be asked to give money?

A. Not really. There are offering boxes located near the exit and we often take up an offering at the end the service. Like you, we can’t stand those so-called ‘churches’ who shake-down people for money. This goes against the Bible and we never do it.

Q? What kind of music do you play?

A. We are a contemporary church—so we use drums, electric guitars, piano, and more. We do some hymns but it is not the basis of our worship style. Many of the songs we play you’ll hear on radio stations like K-Love and Air1.

Q? What kind of church—denomination—is BVC?

A. BVC is a Bible-believing and teaching church where the Word of God lives and is applied to our lives in practical down-to-earth ways.  We are associated with Converge Worldwide as well as Converge PacWest (part of the Baptist General Conference).
