This week’s word is: FATHERS. It’s wonderful to be a father. I recall times playing with my kids in the park down the street from our home (when we lived in another city). I recall taking them to all kinds of places: historical, fun, ballgames, etc. I can remember taking them for ice cream and of watching their happy faces. I can also recall the times when it fell to me to discipline them. That was always tough for me because I loved them so much but I knew if I didn’t, then they might suffer grave consequences. This coming Sunday is “Father’s Day” — always a great time of worship and then fellowship. If you’ve never attended a BVC Father’s Day here, then you need to attend this Sunday. We’ll have a great time looking into God’s Word (Ephesians 5:21, 23, 25-33) with a message entitled: WALKING IN A MANNER WORTHY: THE HUSBAND’S ROLE. I sure hope you can make it!
FUNDAMENTALS OF THE FAITH CLASS is coming starting Wednesday, July 5, at 7:00. The class will last approximately 90 minutes and Jerett Olson and I will do our best to get everyone on their way at 8:30 p.m. This class is a must for every believer. And I want to encourage each of you reading this to plan to attend. We just need to know you’re coming so please RSVP so we can have your books ready for you! Thanks.
OLD FASHIONED CHURCH BBQ: is happening after church on Sunday, July 2. Sign-ups will be taken June 18 and 25 for the following events: water balloon toss (you’ll need a partner); egg toss (again, you’ll need a partner); bat spin; tug-o-war; watermelon eating contest; pie-eating contest; water balloon “war”; and a couple of others. There will be an adult sign-up as well as youth sign-up page. Please dress very casually on this Sunday.
RUMMAGE SALE is coming on Saturday, July 8. It’s time to get those items from your home to the church. All proceeds will benefit 2 specific areas: youth camp scholarships and Operation Christmas Child. So, if you have an item or two around your home that you’d like to donate, just bring them down to the church.
Looking forward to seeing all of you this Sunday!
Love,
Pastor Chuck
