Hi BVC’ers!

So much hubbub going on in the world these days. I find myself getting a little bit agitated because of all the divisiveness I see and read. What’s the remedy? To some, it means getting off social media for awhile just to be able to calm down. To others, it means getting into social media and make comments. And to still others it means not talking about anything deep.

So what can you do to normalize things just a little bit? To bring some sanity back into your life?

I believe we’re being called to pray more than ever before. It is through the avenue of prayer that our hearts and minds will be protected. Philippians 4:6-7 informs us that we need to not be anxious about anything, but in everything we need to pray. Then the peace of God will guard our hearts and minds in Christ.

Second, I believe that we need to pause at 8 p.m. every single night and fervently pray for our country for 1 minute (sixty measly seconds). Janice and I try to do this every single night … sometimes we don’t get to, but each night one of our phones goes off to tell us it’s 8 p.m. We also pray for BVC and we pray for you!

So the next time you find yourself getting a little bit uptight, pray. Just commune with the Lord. I think you’ll notice a difference in your life if you do.

The ladies (all 20 of them) had an excellent time at Women’s Retreat! I’ve heard some very good reports. If you didn’t get a chance to go in 2017, plan now on going in 2018!!

Have a great rest of the week … I’m looking forward to seeing you this Sunday!!
Love, Pastor Chuck
