Hi BVC’ers!
One of my all-time favorite Scripture references is Proverbs 3:5-6. I’ve gone back to those verses many times because of its basic instruction: trust the Lord completely, do not lean on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
I can’t tell you the times I’ve recited that verse to myself over the years and in every case, the Lord has indeed made my path straight. Sometimes you also must practice some much-needed patience too!
The bottom line is this: God is in control and faithful to honor His Word. You can take that to the bank.
As the world faces the Corona Virus and the impact it is having, one thing is crystal clear: God is faithful. We can trust God 100%. But there are several things which we can do to make Berryessa Valley Church safer for those who attend here. First, I’ve instructed our cleaning service to do much more disinfecting of common areas (including doorknobs, light switches, etc.). I’ve also instructed them to do more in our classrooms and nursery. Second, you may feel comfortable hugging and greeting everyone (as is our custom here). However, some may not feel comfortable and that’s ok. So waving, smiling, elbowing is perfectly ok too. Some may not want to partake in the greeting time at all (and that’s perfectly ok). Third, at least for the time being, we’re not going to have Communion observed in April. We’ll reassess as we get towards the month of May. Fourth, our food and coffee ministry will continue as before but with the proviso that you may be served and/or requested to wash your hands or use hand sanitizer before touching any food products. Fifth, I’ve purchased two automatic hand sanitizing machines. One will be for the food/coffee area and the other will be for the lobby. The only problem is that the gel has not arrived yet but I’m hoping it will be here before Sunday. If anyone has a spare hand sanitizer that could be given to BVC, that would be great! Sixth, at the present, our Community Family Festival scheduled for Saturday, April 11, is still on!
Continue to pray with me that this virus becomes contained. Pray also for people who have been impacted by the loss of work might find work. Pray for those who have been exposed become healthy. May each of us focus ourselves upon the Lord!
Love,
Pastor Chuck
