Hi BVC’ers!
By the time you read this, most schools will be out for the summer. Means a lot of vacations, warmer days, and bbqs! All the teachers in our BVC family will certainly benefit and recharge during these days because teaching is quite an exhaustive job.
I’m reminded of the words of the 23rd Psalm especially the words “He makes me lie down.” Often, we don’t want to do that. We want to be on the go and take in everything we can. I often see people write on Facebook that they’re beset by the flu or a cold or aches and they just can’t get out to do all the things they wish they could. I usually write to remind them not to forget that God makes us lie down. Not only that, but the Lord makes us lie down in green pastures!
When I was a kid, the area next to our house was a prune orchard. One day I came home from school and saw that every single one of the trees had been cut down. The entire orchard was gone! When it rained and spring rolled around, mustard plants would grow in that vacant field. I’d take my dog out there and we’d create paths through the tall mustard plants. Usually we’d both lie down, and I’d do nothing but stare at the clouds and the sky. Quite relaxing actually!
May this summer of 2019 be one that finds each of us getting recharged and energized from spending time alone with God in a great place! Never fight when He makes you lie down for often He wants to tell you something special!!
FATHER’S DAY: June 16 will be a special day at BVC. It’s our Annual Luau! Come dressed in your favorite Hawaiian clothes!
2ND HARVEST FOOD BANK: Coming up on Wednesday, June 19, from 6-8 p.m. at 4001 N. First Street. Some spaces are still available.
SUMMER CLASSES: If you’re looking for a great class to enroll in this summer, look no further! DISCIPLESHIP will be offered from June 26-August 28. This is the only time this class will be offered in 2019. NEW MEMBER CLASS will be offered on July 17. EVANGELISM TRAINING on September 4 and 11. KNOWING YOUR DESIGN on September 18 and 25. Please let me know if you’re planning to attend so enough materials can be prepared. All classes are held on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. at “The House @ BVC.”
YOUTH CAMP: Coming up from July 13-17! If you desire to attend, please see Santino Fortes. Youth Camp is always a great experience!! Scholarships are available.
