Hi BVC’ers!
It’s good to be back! We had a wonderful and relaxing vacation to New Zealand and Australia. What we saw reminded us of God’s beauty…both countries are absolutely beautiful. So many people in those countries went out of their way to make sure we got to where we needed to go (by answering our questions and being incredibly patient). Thank YOU for your prayers as we went and came back!
Your Board met on Tuesday night and we had a great meeting. I wanted to share with you some news: first, officers were elected. Jerett Olson is now President of the Board; Les Cubero is now Vice-President; Santino Fortes is now Secretary; Ysmael Gajardo is now Member-at-Large. Congratulations to these men on taking on these responsibilities.
The Board also made the decision to allow Dennis Wilkison to remain as the point person on the House Renovation Project. Dennis will have full authority to continue to sign documents and hire engineers. The Board felt this would be the best route to follow. Dennis has agreed to be the point person going forward. He will be reporting to the Board monthly.
Our March board meeting will be held on March 17. At that time, we expect to hear presentations from possible General Contractors. Pray for us that we’ll have the wisdom to hear and ask questions that will help us determine which contractor God would desire us to engage. As a side note, we haven’t heard from the City of San Jose regarding approval from the Building Commission — so continue to pray!!
Here are some things you need to know: (1) NEW WEDNESDAY STUDY will debut on March 25 covering the life of Joseph (from the book of Genesis). This promises to be an excellent time in the Word. Perhaps you saw the blurb about it on Facebook, but you do need to indicate your interest to attend this class (comes with a book and a workbook). You won’t be disappointed if you decide to join!
(2) 2nd HARVEST FOOD BANK on Wednesday, March 18, from 6-8 p.m. If you are planning to participate, please let me know as soon as possible so space can be reserved.
(3) COMMUNITY FAMILY FESTIVAL is coming up on Saturday, April 11. More information will be forthcoming from Santino and Eloisa Fortes.
(4) EASTER SERVICE is coming up on Sunday, April 12. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to invite someone to come with you to hear the greatest message!!
(5) MEN’S RETREAT is coming up March 6-8 at Mt. Hermon. All monies are due this Sunday, March 1. Please place in the offering with a notation that says, ‘MEN’S RETREAT.’
