Hi BVC’ers!
While I’m writing this article today it has been raining. As I put the finishing touches on it, the sun is out! Kind of a weird, wacky weather day!! I trust that everyone reading this is staying warm and dry (because it has been cold here)! Janice took some time to take Anakin back home to North Carolina. Yesterday she texted me and said, “Hey, it’s 76 degrees here — and 52 degrees in San Jose — what’s up with that?!” She got in last night and was freezing outside San Jose International Airport!
The good news is that God is good all the time — whether in warm or colder conditions. Each of us has so many blessings to be thankful over. As the song says, “When I’m worried and I can’t sleep, I count my blessings instead of sheep…and you’ll fall asleep counting your blessings!” Truer words were never penned! I hope that each of you has begun 2020 by counting your blessings. Right now, I want to encourage you to do precisely that! And continue it daily throughout 2020. As another song says, “count your blessings, name them one-by-one, count your many blessings see what God has done!”
WHAT’S COMING UP?
First, BVC sent 20 women to the Women’s Retreat this past weekend. I’m so looking forward to hearing some of them share what God taught them this coming Sunday! Don’t miss it!!
Second, the BVC 2020 Annual Meeting is coming up right after the morning worship service on January 26. We’ll be voting on officers, constitutional amendment, 2020 faith budget, and hearing some exciting BIG news about the House Renovation!!
Third, the Men’s Retreat is coming up March 6-8 at Mt. Hermon. This is a call to all men to plan to join in this event!! Scholarships are available. It’s my prayer that our men will turn out for this event!!
Have a great rest of the week
— and I look forward to seeing you on Sunday!!
Love,
Pastor Chuck
