Mission Springs Campground is located in the Santa Cruz Mountains. I first went there when I was in high school and it was at that camp that I made my profession of faith in Jesus Christ. It’s a decision I’ve never regretted. This coming weekend (January 22-24), 27 of the BVC ladies will be going to Monterey for the 2016 Retreat. A lot of great decisions get made at times like these … and I’d encourage you to pray that the Lord would move in great ways while the ladies are there (we’re going to miss them…but glad for this chance they have)!!
We held our Annual Meeting this past Sunday (and it was great seeing so many of you participate). First, I’d like to welcome SANTINO FORTES to our board. Santino has been regularly contributing to teaching on Wednesday night as well as overseeing our youth camp outreach each summer! Second, VERLE RAMIREZ was re-elected to another term as treasurer and DAVID KNOBLICH was re-elected to another term as church secretary/recorder (in addition to his duties as office manager). Third, LORI SERPA, JENN CHIARAMONTE, RAMIR RAMIREZ, JERETT OLSON, and AMVIR SUMERA were elected to be part of the 2016 Nominating Committee. Fourth, the 2016 FAITH BUDGET passed unanimously! Many thanks to each of the above named people for stepping up and assuming roles of leadership at BVC. We’re grateful for you.
But when you have elections, it usually means that some terms are
ending. How do you thank ERIC CASTOR for his years of service on the
board? Eric has displayed a tender and compassionate heart in many
instances and has always been available to help/assist/lead and always
with a hearty smile! Many thanks Eric for a job well done!!
Eric will continue to be involved in our youth ministry as well as our OMG events.
NICARAGUA MISSIONS TRIP will take place in late January and they’ll be returning in mid-February. Dennis Wilkison is heading this trip up and looks forward to accomplishing great things. Pray for the team as they travel and that the Lord will use them in great ways!!
MEN’S RETREAT is coming up March 4-6. Registrations are due February 1 (which is coming up pretty quick). If you need more information please see myself, Jerett Olson, or Raud de Silva. Scholarships are available as well.
COMMUNITY FAMILY FESTIVAL is coming up on Saturday, March 26 (the day
before Easter). This marks the 2nd year of having this event and last
year saw many from the surrounding neighborhood attend.
This coming Sunday, January 24, we’ll be looking at Colossians 3:20-21
with a message entitled, FAMILY: PARENTS. When Paul wrote to the
Colossians he had a few things to say to the wives then to the husbands,
and now to the children/parents. Trust you’ll be here on Sunday.
Love, Pastor Chuck
