Hi BVC’ers!

Everyone ought to have a favorite Scripture verse, don’t you think? What’s yours? Did you select as a child or a young person or as an adult? What makes it so special? I have a Bible reading plan which each day presents a specific Bible verse to dwell and meditate upon. The other day my favorite Bible verse was selected! So I shared it with my family. I was surprised to find that they all didn’t know it was my favorite verse (I thought I might have mentioned it a few times). It’s Romans 8:31 which says “If God be for us, who can be against us?” There have been countless times when I’ve recited that verse over the years as I faced obstacles or trials or hard times. There have been times I’ve recited that verse when I faced joys and triumphs. It lets me know that no matter what, God is greater and mightier and bigger than anything in this world. That verse brings me comfort and serenity in absolutely everything. I’m thankful that the Lord had the Apostle Paul write it down! I’m sure your favorite verse impacts you exactly the same way.

Our COMMUNITY FAMILY FESTIVAL is now history! Special thanks to Raud de Silva for being the excellent point person for this event. Many from our nearby neighborhoods came to participate and it was a joy meeting them. And special thanks to each person who donated candy, time, and talent in making this a huge success!

Our OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD packing party is coming up on Sunday, November 15. If you’ve taken some shoe boxes to fill, it’s almost time to bring them back. Our goal this year is 500 boxes and from the looks of a portion of the house, we’re well on our way to getting there! If you should have questions, please see Lori Serpa. She’s doing another excellent job!! You have until Sunday, November 22, to bring all boxes back in. Do remember $7.00 per box for mailing costs too.

Our CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE is coming up at 7:30 p.m. on December 24. Great plans are underway for this service and I hope you’ll be able to attend. Ramir Ramirez is the point person for this wonderful service.

This coming Sunday we’re back in the book of Colossians (Colossians 2:6-7) with a message entitled, “Walking Tall.” I look forward to seeing each of you on Sunday!!
Love, Pastor Chuck
